Cornwall’s Falling Empires released their new single ‘Firefight’ on 28 August 2026.

The band describe the track as “an emotional gut-punch of a nostalgic emo banger” that is not afraid to delve into the darker side of mental health struggles.

Falling Empires say the song relates to suicidal thoughts and negative mental health. They feel these subjects are important to discuss openly, particularly so that people in a difficult place know there are others who care about them and whose lives are improved by having them in them.

The band also acknowledge charities working to support people in difficult circumstances, with particular mentions for Man Down, Papyrus and Samaritans.

Falling Empires are a Cornish post-hardcore band whose supplied biography describes their music as atmospheric and highly emotive, noting that they are often referred to as “Deftones meets Alexisonfire”.

‘Firefight’ was produced, mixed and mastered by Joe Marsh.
