Involving Music are pleased to introduce you to Gareth Davie.

Born and raised in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Gareth Davie is a guitarist and singer-songwriter with a distinctive high-energy pop sound that spans all aspects of the genre. Taking influence from his background in Jazz and Funk, as well as his passion for blues, rock, and EDM, his music is a melting pot of sounds that still come together to create something uniquely authentic and individual.

Live, Gareth is joined by a 7-piece band complete with a horn section. It focuses on lively, virtuosic performances while not sacrificing the intimate nature of a solo artist, dedicating a portion of his shows to low-volume acoustic songs.

Gareth has been heavily involved in music from a young age, but it wasn’t until 2020, that he found his true passion. Gareth immersed himself in music production which led to him self-producing his first fully original album, The Real Thing, in 2021.

He released his single Ruin My Life in March 2023 to a very positive reception, and the track quickly became a fan favourite.

After taking a year-long hiatus, Gareth returned in 2024, releasing his singles Bad Influence, Corner Store, and Never Coming Back in preparation for his second album Quantum Superposition released in May 2025.

Tell us more about Gareth Davie.

I am so passionate about pop music and music in general – and I want to share that love with everybody who listens to me, either streaming or live. I also want to provide more opportunities for exceptionally talented local musicians to perform by putting on shows that don’t just focus on myself.

About Gareth’s latest release, ‘Quantum Superposition.’

Three years in the making, Quantum Superposition is local Exeter based artist Gareth Davie’s second album – and his most ambitious work yet. Expanding his musical reach to broader genres and introducing what are sure to be staples of his music in the future in the form of live recorded horns and enormous drum and guitar sounds, Gareth showcases his versatility as musician and cements himself as one to watch in the pop music space.

What inspired ‘Quantum Superposition’?

The title Quantum Superposition comes from Gareth’s background in physics, specifically from quantum mechanics, and signifies the merging of Gareth’s varied musical backgrounds into one definitive sound. No track demonstrates this better than the titular Quantum Superposition, which combos a huge modern dance-pop anthem against a fully live original big band, arranged by Gareth himself, with the track effortlessly bringing the two opposing pieces together into something entirely new.

Quick Fire Just For Fun

If you’re on the road…

The absolute essential item for us on tour is…

Pub recommendations for post-show celebrations.

Our most challenging journey for the least payoff led us to…

Spending multiple rehearsals practising a new song, only to cut it for a time in the middle of a gig.

Keeping fit on the road requires…

I wish I knew 🙁

The coolest pit stop worldwide is…

My parent’s house – my mum gives the best hospitality (and makes a top tier curry).

A must-have in our tour survival kit is…

A Bluetooth speaker – we always have endless new music recommendations for each other.

The weirdest gig we’ve ever played happened at…

I once played an acoustic gig at the same time as a brass band played Disney tunes about 30m away – it was a weird mix.

The place with the best bathroom graffiti is..

Anywhere with a Gareth Davie sticker or QR code.

The best part of performing live is the feeling of…

People not only coming to watch me perform my silly love songs – but singing them back to me. I’ve never felt prouder than in that moment.

The silliest thing ever said onstage was…

Anything Andrei says – that boy is an enigma.

How we prepare for a show…

Chatting about our day to the sound of the horn players blasting out high notes in the bathroom to warm up. Got to finish it off with a hype up though.

Shout out to a local business in Exeter…

Exploding Bakery – the staff are wonderful and I’ve never been more productive than when I’m working there.

What’s the best attraction/place to visit/hang out in Exeter?

I love the Christmas market each year – otherwise, The Old Firehouse is a top-tier spot for live music and an amazing atmosphere.

Gareth Davie’s music blends jazz, funk, blues, rock, and EDM into a unique, authentic sound. His live shows balance lively performances with intimate acoustic moments. After self-producing his debut album in 2021, he returned in 2025 with new singles and a second album.
