Live in the Library with Anna Ling

Exeter Library transforms into a venue for discovery, with headliner Anna Ling delivering her spellbinding folk-rooted sound. With airplay on BBC Radio 3 and festival appearances across the UK, Anna blends musical storytelling with dense harmonies. Support comes from Third Girl From the Left, bringing art-pop meets alt-folk rock energy.

This is a Pay What You Choose event, with proceeds going to the artists and the library service.

Dan Smith @ Exeter Cavern

US artist Dan Smith (Listener, Labklik, Deepspace5) lands in Exeter with his unique brand of “Talk Music” – spoken word, poetry and emotion set against lo-fi indie and hip hop roots. Dan Smith has a career spanning over 30 countries and a reputation for intensity. This is one for fans of music that hits head and heart.

Marcus Vergette: The Farm @ 12 Bar Music & Social

Ides of Sedition + No Totality @ Exeter Cavern

Veteran punks meet new-school energy. Ides of Sedition (featuring members of Chelsea and Shakespears Sister) fuse 70s punk grit with 80s electronic pop and psychedelia, performing tracks from their debut album Perfection Is Overrated plus classics from Chelsea, Bowie and The Doors. Support comes from Exeter’s own No Totality, whose alternative rock leans into themes of isolation and identity.

Exeter’s live scene is buzzing this September, with gigs that span heavy rock, folk, experimental sound and beyond. Pick your night, grab your ticket and support the venues and artists keeping the city loud.
