The Kahunas

The Kahunas brought their free-spirited energy to Exeter Phoenix on Sunday, 28 September 2025, launching their All Systems Go! UK tour with a performance that pulsed between danceable folk-rock anthems and intimate storytelling. The nomadic duo — Tash and Brian — blend violin, acoustic guitar, didgeridoo loops, and rich harmonies into a sound that’s as expansive as their travels. Their set moved effortlessly from foot-stomping festival favourites to tender moments of reflection, with each song carrying traces of the road, the landscape, and the people they’ve met along the way. For the packed Exeter crowd, it was part gig, part gathering — a night of rhythm, warmth, and connection.

Since forming in 2021, The Kahunas have become a standout name on the UK festival circuit, with appearances at Boomtown, Beautiful Days, and Sidmouth Folk Festival, plus features on BBC Introducing. Their music draws from folk, rock, and world influences, echoing the spirit of artists like Fleetwood Mac and The Levellers, but with a raw, contemporary edge. Critics have called them “barnstorming” and “wild-roving”, and their live shows more than justify the hype. The Exeter Phoenix date confirmed why they’ve fast become one of the most talked-about acts in the South West — authentic, inventive, and impossible to stand still.
