Cheltenham three-piece Hest released their debut single, ‘The Fear’, on 9 October 2026 through haydenmfmusic.

The band describe the single as “a fiery showcase of the band’s sound and style, taut instrumentation, and soaring vocals”.

Introducing themselves as “three always-wired heads on always-restless bodies”, Hest offer this description of their sound:

“Think QOTSA, getting a neck rub from The Cure, being punched in the mouth by NIN. Guitar and vocals at breaking point, over castle-like drums and threatening bass. Punk monsters cross-bred with prog masters. Every move, equally brutal and beautiful.”

‘The Fear’ was recorded at The Chicken Shed, Beckford, Gloucestershire, in May 2019, with recording, engineering and mixing by Saul Davies Music.
