A Celebration of Contrasts in support of The Churn Project Brahms, Academic Festival overture Schubert, Symphony No. 8 (The Unfinished Symphony) Saint-Sans, Symphony No. 3 (The "Organ Symphony") Thomas Hawkes - Organ This evenings concert is in support of The Churn Project, a charitable project which has been supporting people across the community in Cirencester and nearby villages since 2001. This concert will be a part of its 25th Anniversary Celebrations. We will be bringing to Cirencester, a celebration of contrasts, of wit, mystery, and majesty. The concert will begin with Brahms Academic Festival Overture, a playful and exuberant tribute to student life, brimming with good humour and spirited tunes. From there, we enter the haunting beauty of Schuberts Unfinished Symphony, a masterpiece of lyrical melancholy and emotional depth, forever suspended in a state of poetic incompletion. The evening reaches its awe-inspiring climax with Saint-Sans Symphony No. 3, the magnificent Organ Symphony, where orchestral brilliance meets the grandeur of the organ, performed by Cirencester Parish Churchs very own Director of Music, Thomas Hawkes.
